Launched specifically for tourists, this train makes scheduled stops at scenic viewpoints (like waterfalls and the Nine Arches Bridge) allowing passengers to get off and take photos.

Travel Tip

While the train is amazing, it takes a long time (9-10 hours Colombo to Ella). A popular option is to take a taxi from Colombo to Kandy, stay a night, and then take the train from Kandy to Ella (6 hours) for the most scenic part of the journey.
